8 Amazing Wrestlers That Flopped In WWE's Ruthless Aggression Era
3. Scott Steiner
Scott Steiner was one of the very few bright spots in the final years of WCW. His cartoonish physique and unfiltered personality made him one of the superstars that fans most wanted to see in WWE after Vince McMahon bought the company. The 'Attitude Era' might have been over, but Steiner’s over-the-top personality and unfiltered aggression should have been perfect for the maniacal billionaire, but it wasn’t to be.
After debuting inside the hallowed halls of Madison Square Garden at Survivor Series 2002 to a thunderous ovation and laying waste to Matt Hardy and Chris Nowinski, this 'Genetic Freak' went straight into a feud with Triple H. Again, this felt like a good fit on paper, but their matches at the Royal Rumble and No Way Out 2003 for the World Heavyweight Championship went together like toothpaste and orange juice.
In other words, they bombed.
This misery led to Steiner not even having a match at WrestleMania XIX. His PPV appearances in 2003 largely included either teaming with or battling against Test in WWE's lower midcard, and he was gone from the company entirely shortly after competing in the 2004 Rumble.
His plight remains a criminal misuse of talent, but Scotty still has a place in fan hearts to this day.
