8 Awesome WWE Matches Ruined By DQ Finishes

4. Brock Lesnar Vs. John Cena - Night Of Champions 2014

John Cena couldn't possibly beat Brock Lesnar clean. Likewise, Lesnar couldn't earn a legitimate pin over Cena because...ya know, John Cena is the earth, moon, and stars in Vince McMahon's eyes. And so here we were, with two of the biggest men in the company (literally) battling head-to-head in a match that was so much better than it had any right to be. Even the most adamant of John Cena's detractors had to be pleased once this one started nearing the finish line, and for once not just because that meant another disappointing performance would finally be over. It was AAs and STFs and F5s and big suplexes all over the place and, even though the rest of the match was pretty much just Lesnar toying with Cena like the sick predator he is, it was exactly what it needed to be. What it did not need to be was John Cena winning by disqualification thanks to interference from Seth Rollins, who was looking to cash-in his Money in the Bank contract, just to be chased back out of the arena by Cena before he even got a chance to try his luck. The confusion was noticeable, not just among the fans in attendance, but among the announcers, as well, who couldn't explain the many dumb layers of what the had just happened.
