8 Biggest Wastes Of Money In The Bank In WWE History
2. Damien Sandow (2013)
Remember in 2016 when Damien Sandow was wrestling's biggest martyr? He was released from WWE after a year of doing precisely nothing after getting the most over as Miz's stunt double. Fans were outraged that such an entertaining superstar had been released. Why oh why didn't WWE utilize him to his full potential?
And then he popped up in a few indies and TNA, and fans were quick to learn that "Aron Rex" was obscenely average, and that aside from the usual indie fare of ex-WWE wrestler, he had little to offer in the way of character.
Of course, fans didn't know this in 2013, when the Intellectual Savior of the Masses won the World Heavyweight Championship contract. He then earned the dubious distinction of being the first man to lose his cash-in cleanly against John Cena (who was already playing up an injury angle, so Sandow didn't even get the out of losing to a full-powered SuperCena).
While it's sad for Sandow that he was the first to lose his cash-in cleanly, you can't really weep for the title reign that might have been. Dude just wasn't world champion material, plain and simple.
