8 Biggest Wastes Of Money In The Bank In WWE History
3. Mr. Kennedy (2007)
Ken Anderson, known in WWE as Ken Kennedy, or MISTER KENNEDY... KENNEDY was definitely someone the company had high hopes for in the mid-2000s. He had a good look, a firm grasp of his character, and was a guy the fans hated for the right reasons.
WWE hoped to catapult Kennedy into the main eventers club when he won the Money in the Bank briefcase at WrestleMania 23. Apparently, the plan was to have him revealed as Vince McMahon's illegitimate son and feud with Triple H for the WWE Championship at the following 'Mania.
Unfortunately, Kennedy's fortunes soon turned sour, as in May, he lost his briefcase to Edge and was injured soon after. Plus, with the Chris Benoit tragedy later in the summer, the storyline about Vince's progeny and "death" got the kibosh, leaving Kennedy without any ticket to the main event scene. He would continue to mire in the midcard until he was eventually released amidst political misfires (note to wrestlers: don't cross Randy Orton, apparently).
While Kennedy isn't the most egregious person to win the briefcase, the fact that he lost it so soon after makes his initial win really pointless.
