Everyone needs a killer first match unless they're, y'know, debuting in the Rumble (which takes care of itself). Maybe someone like AJ Styles could go on The Bump and ask why Cody is suddenly strolling around like John Cena in his prime. That'd get people talking.

AJ had only just landed in WWE when Rhodes departed, so their paths have never really crossed. That's something else Cody could bring up during his rebuttal - 'Who the f*ck do you think you're talking to? I went off an created an entire company that you'd love to work for'.

These shoot-style comments have been done before, sure, but they're a proven winner creatively. Styles showed he has the chops to do that during his feud vs. Randy Orton a few years back, and he's one of the best at cutting whiny promos about babyfaces.
