8 Devastating Moves Watered Down In WWE

6. Curb Stomp

This move is no longer in use in WWE in any form. Despite it being the move that brought about the fall of the main event of WrestleMania 31, the previous finishing move of Seth Rollins has been banned from use in WWE on account of it being so easy to replicate in a schoolyard.

As brutal as Rollins’ version of the move is, it pales in comparison to the original version, with which Super Dragon is somewhat synonymous. Where as Rollins’ version is open to counter (such as the beautiful RKO from Randy Orton at WrestleMania 31), you simply ain’t getting out of a Super Dragon curb stomp.

What’s more, the impact of the move is on a completely different level. All of Dragon’s force is coming down on your face. No wonder this was watered down for use in the big leagues.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
