6. A Family Divided - Armageddon 1999

In November 1999, Triple H sabotaged the grand wedding between Stephanie McMahon and Test, revealing that he had secretly married the drunken, passed-out daughter of his boss, and hated rival, Vince McMahon. With the feud between The Game and the Chairman of the Board reaching its boiling part heading into the final month of the year, a Street Fight was booked for the main event of the December pay-per-view, Armageddon. All eyes were on Stephanie at ringside as she watched her new husband and her father batter and bruise each other. Despite a bloodied face and a body wracked with pain, Vince appeared in position to win the match when he grabbed Triple H's trademark sledgehammer and prepared to use it. Then Stephanie hopped in the ring and begged her father to let her hit her begging husband. Unable to do the deed, she handed the weapon back to her father, providing Triple H an opening to blast Vince and win the match. Suddenly, a Stephanie feigning care for her father stood up, flashed a grin and embraced her significant other to a mixture of applause and jeers. For the first time since becoming an on-air character in late 1997, it was the love for his family that proved McMahon's undoing. As you relived earlier in this countdown, it was not a weakness he would let be exploited again.
