8 HUGE WWE Day 1 2022 Predictions You Need To Know

4. Edge Vs. The Miz

There's no greater tell in modern day WWE that the creative forces have ran out of ideas more than the inclusion of some goo.

Whether dripping down Alexa Bliss' face, poured out of a bucket onto Braun Strowman or dropped from the ceiling on to The Miz and Maryse during their go-home show vow renewal, the delivery method doesn't matter but the existence of the substance does. Vince McMahon or those close to him think this stuff equals heat, shock and awe when it's mostly the total opposite and a far-too-literal interpretation of the sludge the shows have become in recent times.

All that's to say that it's a shame it befell this specific build. Yes, the "Broodbath" is apparently something Edge can do every so often now, but the two were involved in a decent milquetoast CM Punk/MJF deal before the sh*t almost literally hit the fans.

The match will probably go the same way but here's a rare polite request for a cheap finish rather than a protest against one. A potential mixed tag adding Beth Phoenix and Maryse to the mix is more interesting than this singles battle ever had the chance to be. Set that up here, and all will be far from lost.

Winner - The Miz
