8 Interesting Observations From TNA Live In York, PA
4. The Show Is As Fan-Friendly As Ever
Upon arriving inside the arena, the first thing this writer noticed was a huge line of fans lined up. For what, you may ask? To meet and greet Jeff Hardy, who was signing autographs and taking pictures with any and all comers. How much did such an honor cost? Zero dollars. That is right; the most popular star in the company and one of the biggest in the entire industry, was meeting and greeting fans for free as they arrived to the show. Later, during intermission, world champion Ethan Carter III did the same. And finally, after the final bell, Hardy and brother Matt returned to the merchandise area where pictures and autographs were once again available to whoever wanted them. As someone who has attended many TNA shows in the past, I was not surprised. Not completely, at least. Sure, the company has been known to sell various VIP packages the night of the event, allowing fans to meet some of the show's biggest stars. But they have also made a name for themselves by running free signings prior to and after events. In many cases, it was not out of the ordinary to meet every performer on that night's card. Thursday night's meet and greets, as well as several affordable bundle deals at the merchandise stand, continued TNA's dedication to its fans when it comes to the live event experience. The company has always recognized that it would not be in existence were it not for those fans who attended said events, bought merchandise, paid for pay-per-views and supported the wrestlers and Knockouts at every opportunity. As someone who has been to many WWE shows, TNA's devotion to fan interactivity has always been a great change of pace.
Erik Beaston is a freelance pro wrestling writer who likes long walks in the park, dandelions and has not quite figured out that this introduction is not for Match.com. He resides in Parts Unknown, where he hosts weekly cookouts with Kane, The Ultimate Warrior, Papa Shango and The Boogeyman. Be jealous.
