8 Japanese Stars WWE Should Sign
4. Kushida
If he weren't so committed to New Japan, Kushida would have been a perfect import for the Cruiserweight Classic earlier this year, alongside fellow hard hitting junior heavyweight Kota Ibushi.
And Ibushi's success in that tournament and in his recent appearances in NXT shows that a smaller talented Japanese star like Kushida could really do well in the WWE system.
A hugely likeable babyface, Kushida has had a tremendous couple of years as the main star of the NJPW junior heavyweight division, able to play the aggressive underdog role perfectly opposite great heel foils like Kenny Omega and BUSHI.
He's also got the legitimacy of a Shinsuke Nakamura, having competed in mixed martial arts and compiling a highly impressive undefeated record of six wins, two draws, zero losses.
However, much like another couple of names later on this list, New Japan bookers Gedo and Jado have put an awful lot of stock in making Kushida the top guy in the junior heavyweight division over the last couple of years. It's unlikely they would let another star make the switch to WWE without a fight.
We're also not convinced Kushida would be allowed to do his Back To The Future gimmick in WWE. Then again, knowing Vince McMahon, he'd probably think the whole thing was really fresh; I'm looking at you TJ Perkins.
