8 Least Over WWE Wrestlers To Headline WrestleMania

Here's another example of a wrestler who wasn't necessarily un-over in and of himself, but - when you compare his fan reactions with those of the guys he kept out of the main event - you begin to scratch your head a little.

To be fair, it has actually been suggested by some that the very reason Sid was promoted to WrestleMania VIII's headline match at the expense of Ric Flair was because house show crowds had responded unenthusiastically to The Nature Boy versus Hulk Hogan.

But, just because Vince McMahon was prepared to take this small sample as representative of the entire WWE fanbase, it doesn't mean we have to do the same. The fact is that this was a dream match for years leading up to their brief showdown at the Royal Rumble.

A peak Sid commanded a decent amount of heat, but it paled in comparison to many of the great heels of his time, and his profile was nowhere near the same level of Flair or even Randy Savage, both of whom would have been much better fits for the spot he ultimately took.
