8 Main Roster WWE Superstars Who Would Thrive In NXT

So it’s safe to say Mike and Maria are screwed on SmackDown, right? The former power couple of the indie scene debuted at Money in the Bank with a bizarre love-based gimmick that, amazing theme song aside, has not gotten over with the audience. Add to the fact that Mike Kanellis is now jobbing to Sami Zayn and Tye Dillinger, and it seem as though his prospects as a main roster superstar are grim.

A change of scenery in Orlando would do wonders for the two. Not only would the creative freedom of NXT allow them to better define their gimmick (or create a new one entirely), but it's also likely the Full Sail crowd will be more familiar with their work outside WWE. It would stand in stark contrast to their SmackDown debut, where the main roster audience didn't remember Maria, and couldn't care less about her husband.
