8 Most Insane Things Happening In Wrestling Right Now (Feb 17)
3. The Greatest Visionary In The History Of Pro Wrestling Isn't Being Recognised
It turns out that the creator of Wrestling Society X - one of the most reviled promotions in history, with action which made Vince Russo's vision of pro wrestling look like Jim Cornette's - was actually a creative genius with Orwellian prescience.
In an interview with Paste magazine, Kevin Kleinrock revealed the pencilled-in plans for a would-be second season - one which nobody wanted to see because the first one caused widespread aneurysms. Kleinrock claims to have held more than a passing interest in Neville, back when he was wrestling as PAC. PAC was to be joined by the likes of El 'Sami Zayn' Generico, Nigel McGuinness, Bryan 'Daniel Bryan' Danielson and, even though he'd just barely reached a noticeable level of international fame in 2007, Finn Bálor. It's funny that each one of those names is now either a major star - or known as the greatest lost star of their generation.
Kleinrock went on:
"I saw something in Kazuchika Okada, too, even when he was in UWA Hardcore Wrestling a year removed from his debut. He just had "it", you know? Kenny Omega was another. He had only left the barely-televised WWE developmental territory Deep South Wrestling a year before, but I'd caught him - and I liked what I saw."
With such an eye for developing talent, it isn't just insane that Kleinrock isn't scouring the globe for the next wave of WWE stars - it's a bloody tragedy.
