8 New Directions For WWE After Money In The Bank 2025

5. Penta Unmasking El Grande Americano

Chad Gable’s offshoot run as apparent luchador star El Grande Americano has been banter-filled and well worth it. Perhaps the best thing about this alter ego is that Gable can continue working crackers as himself and then show off some other parts of his game under the mask. What an adaptable, valuable worker he is. WWE should sign Chad up for life. He's that good.

At Money In The Bank, his Americano character pretty much stopped Penta from hauling down the briefcase by slugging him with a loaded head butt. So, it makes sense to imagine that they’ll be in a ‘Mask vs. Mask’ scenario soon; that could possibly fall at SummerSlam if the build is handled well enough over the next 2 months.

There, Penta can rip the mask from Gable and reveal Raw’s worst kept secret. 'It was Chad Gable all along!', either Wade Barrett or Pat McAfee would scream. Meanwhile, Michael Cole's voice would go deadpan as he wondered aloud whether or not his coworkers were being serious. 'Of course it was Chad Gable. Are you guys crazy?'.

Don't be a doubter, Cole. Everybody knows that El Grande Americano only borrowed Gable's boots because the American Made leader is such a giving peer.

Seriously though, this Americano hoot has to be building up to some sort of 'Mask vs. Mask' fare, and Penta is the ideal opponent for that sort of match. Get his brother Rey Fenix involved in the celebrations too once they take the hood from Gable and embarrass him in front of MetLife Stadium. Why not, eh?
