Ever since Shane returned to WWE TV this has been spoken of, and rumbling coming out of the company suggest it isn't just internet fantasy booking. Vince's decision to put both Shane and Stephanie in charge of RAW seems to be a decision made to guarantee conflict, which will eventually lead to each child being given their own show to run.

This, combined with the sheer number of superstars currently on the shelf who are scheduled to return from injury makes the brand split ever more likely. In a time where wrestlers are dropping like flies with an assortment of ailments it may be a risky move, but it'll certainly make for some interesting television.
