8 Pointless WWE Title Changes
5. The Miz > Dolph Ziggler
At the time, this title change didn't feel pointless; in fact, few title changes have ever felt more meaningful.
Ziggler had put his career on the line for another shot at The Miz's Intercontinental Championship, and by winning it felt like he had breathed new life into his stagnant career.
But he soon lost the title back, after holding it for a little more than a month, on an episode of SmackDown (albeit the 900th episode special). It put Ziggler back exactly where he started - and perhaps worse, actually, since he had now played his trump card.
It would have made more sense to have him lose and ostensibly retire, only to come back months later, rejuvenated, on some sort of contract technicality. At least that would have taught fans to appreciate him by his absence.
