Many people compared this spot to Steve Austin's first Stunner on Vince McMahon in 1998, but it's really quite different. Sure, Vince was behaving unfairly to both men, attempting to wrench the WWE Championship out of their grasp - but he was 52 at the time of Austin's attack. Roman Reigns hit a 70 year old. Additionally, we have to consider the fact that more outrageous behaviour was expected of our babyfaces in the Attitude Era. Bubba Ray Dudley made a living out of powerbombing women through tables (including Mae Young). These days, such behaviour simply doesn't correspond well with a babyface's character. Roman may come out to the ring and preach bravery, but it doesn't change the fact that he punched a 70 year old square in the face.
