When watching the current WWE product, one cannot help but notice how the matches have somewhat of a uniformity to them. There is clearly a style the company wants its talent to work and most do it to tremendous results. When guys like Sheamus, Cesaro, the Usos, Dolph Ziggler, and all three members of what used to be The Shield are having the quality matches that they are on a weekly basis, it is difficult to argue with the results. Still it would be nice to see a product that does not incorporate one overarching style, a product in which performers are encouraged to wrestle different styles. That description fits TNA to a tee. The X-Division stars provide an exciting, energetic style that keeps fans on the edge of their seats and drops jaws with every death-defying dive over or off the top rope. Brawlers such as Abyss, Bully Ray and newcomer Bram provide pure, unadulterated violence when the time calls for it but can also adapt their skills to match those of any wrestler from any other division. Finally, guys like Bobby Roode, Samoa Joe and Eric Young give the company veteran leadership at the top of the card. They have been with the promotion since its infancy and are guys that can be counted on in pressure situations. MVP, Bobby Lashley, Mr. Anderson and Kurt Angle are stars with experience on the biggest stages in wrestling.
Erik Beaston is a freelance pro wrestling writer who likes long walks in the park, dandelions and has not quite figured out that this introduction is not for Match.com. He resides in Parts Unknown, where he hosts weekly cookouts with Kane, The Ultimate Warrior, Papa Shango and The Boogeyman. Be jealous.
