8 Things We Learned From Cody Rhodes On Stephanie McMahon's WWE Show
5. Steve Austin Was Once His Babysitter

Cody also had some unique perspective on a certain 'Stunning' Steve Austin during the Center Stage days, and he was around Austin way more than he was The Road Warriors. Rhodes told Stephanie that Steve was literally his babysitter on at least one occasion when he visited to watch episodes of Saturday Night get taped.
Dusty was running around working, and he was incredibly busy, so Austin was tasked with making sure young Cody was alright and had everything he needed to enjoy his day. The WWE Champ remembers Steve regularly checking in on him. Years later, when Austin was tearing it up in the WWF as 'Stone Cold', Cody could tell friends: 'That used to be my babysitter'.
A few folks at school likely didn't believe a word Rhodes was saying, but it was absolute gospel. This babysitting agency Austin was running must've taken place at some point in the early-to-mid-1990s. Also, it's kinda hilarious that Steve would go on to lambast Dusty for holding him down during iconic ECW promos later on; he was bitter at the time about how things ended with WCW, and he took some of that out on the 'American Dream'.
Before leaving the company behind, Austin was babysitting none other than Cody. Stephanie McMahon got a kick out of that story, because she has similar tales from her time backstage in the WWF. Legends like Andre The Giant would look after her when she was sprinting around behind the curtain as Vince produced shows.
What a bizarre (but cool) childhood that must've been. 'Babysitter 3:16 says I just got your son a Pepsi'. Fast forward to 2025, and Cody is practically begging for Austin to show up at WrestleMania 41.
