8 Things WWE Must Do To Save Raw

5. Tone Down The Scripting

Staying with the theme of how Raw sounds these days, promos are going rapidly downhill. The modern day reliance upon scripting is very much a double-edged sword; On one hand, less charismatic superstars are given precise guidelines to stick to, leaving less room for error. However, a major drawback is the fact that individual personalities aren't coming across anymore, excluding a small handful of the roster's very best talkers. We're now faced with an army of cookie-cutter babyfaces, who spout childish insults and are always keen to fight "right now!". The heels aren't much better, each proclaiming themselves to be the best (or strongest, or smartest) in exactly the same fashion. A middle ground is needed, with guidelines clear enough to prevent promos spiralling out of control, while allowing just enough leeway for individual cadences and vocabularies to shine through.
