How many times over the past few weeks have you seen the following pattern? A face and heel square off in a singles match, but it doesn't last long before the babyface's rival interferes. The two heels beat him down, but a second face runs out to even the odds. We cut to commercial, and when we return, a surprise tag match has been announced on the fly. This sequence (or a very slight deviation) happens on almost every single Raw these days. Here's another: A wrestler is guest-commentating on a match involving his current rival. If he's a babyface, the heel will come over to the desk and provoke an attack; if he's a bad guy, he'll interfere in the match himself. Raw seems to be built along very established lines these days - far too established, actually. The improvised tag match and guest-commentator angles have always been used, of course, but never with such alarming regularity and predictability.
