8 Times Wrestlers Faced Themselves

5. Kane Vs. Kane

For notoriety's sake, this lands at #5, but honestly, it was by far the worst of any doppelganger storyline in wrestling.

In 2006, Kane began to be tormented by voices that repeated "May 19th" over and over again. As 19 May was the release date of Kane's horror film See No Evil, fans weren't sure what to expect, especially when it was made canon that 19 May was anniversary of the deaths of Kane's mother and adopted family in a fire.

But no one expected another Kane, complete with mask and big poofy hair -- sorta like WCW-era Psychosis -- to emerge from the back and attack The Big Red Machine. Even fewer expected the impostor Kane to defeat the genuine article at Vengeance a few weeks later.

It appeared that the impostor was primed and ready to take over as the devil's favorite demon, but then plans changed, and Kane beat up his doppelganger, took back his mask, and tossed the lookalike out of the arena. So hard, apparently, that it gave him brain damage and turned him into Festus.
