Ric Flair's love of the spotlight has led to him retiring from the ring no less than 2 times. His WrestleMania XXIV send-off with Shawn Michaels should've been his last stand, but he was back in a TNA ring less than a year later. There, his 'final match' with Sting in 2011 was expected to be his last hurrah.

Whilst that TNA run is best forgotten, it honestly looks like his 1989 classics opposite Ricky Steamboat when placed next to his latest "farewell match". Tagging with Andrade for a match against Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett in July 2022 for the retooled Jim Crockett Promotions, fans had their hearts in their mouth any time Ric got into the ring at the age of 73.

When the match ended with Flair victorious, the sight of him bloodied, winded and completely out of it was a sad sight for one of the greatest wrestlers of all time. Ric has since admitted that he passed out twice in the match. The looks of concern from fans and his peers in attendance throughout the bout speak for themselves.
