8 Times WWE's Rules Didn't Apply To Brock Lesnar
5. Blading At WrestleMania 31
Intentional bloodletting was one of many casualties when WWE went full PG in 2008. Wrestlers still spill plasma on occasion (as we saw with Lesnar and Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 34), but never without instruction. If somebody gets colour these days, it's usually accidental, and the company will go out of their way to play it down, taking measures like switching camera angles and uploading gallery images in greyscale.
'The Beast Incarnate' has been one of WWE's most prolific blood-spillers through all of his, and it's widely thought that he went into business for himself at WrestleMania 31, blading during his epic WWE Championship clash with Reigns.
Brock's forehead was cut open minutes into the bout. A video soon started doing the rounds online, with the referee shown handing something resembling a blade to Roman. Reigns then passed it to Lesnar, who was suddenly bleeding when the feed returned to him, and the match continued.
It created a great visual, and the idea that this had happened naturally made Roman look like a badass, but was Brock punished for violating a strict company guideline?
Absolutely not.
