8 Times WWE's Triple H Was A DISASTER-TIER Booker

3. Jey Uso's Main Event Run

It feels very IWC to wade into Jey Uso, but it's understandable as to why Triple H went so big on Jey in 2025. He had incredible moments all the way through The Bloodline's best years, and he and Bron Breakker enjoyed a great feud over the Intercontinental Championship in 2024. There's a vocal part of wrestling's fandom that opposed Jey winning last year's men's Royal Rumble, but in terms of merch sales, audience reaction, and emotional investment from fans, Jey had earned his shot at the main event scene.

Unfortunately, it quickly became apparent that this push wasn't working, and it felt like Jey heard those loud dissenting voices too loudly, as his confidence was shot on the road to WrestleMania 41. There was a nervousness in his promos and matches that hadn't previously existed, and his World Heavyweight Championship victory over Gunther at Mania' 41 felt like persisting with a plan, instead of making the right call.

Uso's title reign lasted just two months before returning the championship to Gunther on the June 9th episode of Monday Night Raw. As the year ran on, Jey was put back into tag matches for major PLEs at Money in the Bank, SummerSlam, and Wrestlepalooza, and ended the year back reuniting The Usos with his brother. Through a mix of uninteresting stories and underwhelming performances, Jey Uso is in a much worse position now than he was before his failed main event push.
