8 Title Reigns WWE Booked In The WORST Way Possible
6. Finn Balor & JD McDonagh - World Tag Team Champions (2024)
Finn Balor and JD McDonagh formed a great partnership to help continue The Judgment Day's reign of relevance. The Irishmen earned their respect over time, with McDonagh in particular gaining recognition for his resolute toughness in recent years. You would think that the pair's 175-day WWE Tag Team Championship reign would have a great deal to do with this outpouring of acclaim, but a closer look reveals that is not the case.
In a title run that lasted over half a year, the pair defended their titles twice. It is a scandalous set of circumstances and makes a mockery of WWE's tag team division. That this reign is Finn Balor's longest run with a championship in the decade he has spent on the main roster should be a source of embarrassment for how the legendary showman has been treated in those years.
After the Judgment Day duo won the belts from Awesome Truth on the 24th June, 2024 episode of Monday Night Raw, the belts were not defended for nearly three months. It then took a further two months for a second defence of the titles, before the pair dropped the gold to The War Raiders in mid-December. Worst of all, the World Tag Team Championships were essentially reduced to being nothing more than a prop to make The Judgment Day look strong for half a calendar year.
