8 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dynamite: The Crossroads (Mar 3)

Ups...

8. Team Taz Get Stung

Sting AEW
AEW

Last night's Sting segment wasn't as explosive as the past couple, but how could it be? The 61-year-old bumping for Brian Cage's powerbomb was shocking. Last week, when he sprung to life with a Stinger Splash and Scorpio Death Drop, was even more so. Short of doing something ridiculous, like putting the veteran through a table, you can't do much more than that.

This was still a fun angle. Sting's interview with Tony Schiavone was interrupted by Ricky Starks, who cut a solid promo. Team Taz poured out from the back, overwhelming Sting before Darby Allin's arrival, with Starks eating a Stinger Splash and Scorpion Death Lock, the babyfaces standing tall to close.

A familiar format, absolutely, but this was clearly designed to show you that Sting can still move. He's a lot more physically capable than many assumed. It was a success in that regard and wasn't lacking in excitement either.
