8 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dynamite: The Crossroads (Mar 3)

6. Oh Hey Onita

Atsushi Onita
AEW

How could you possibly book the first exploding barbed wire deathmatch on an American wrestling pay-per-view in decades and not bring in the god, Atsushi Onita?

The progenitor of the style was part of last night's vignette for Kenny Omega vs. Jon Moxley. Speaking in his native tongue, the battle-beaten veteran put over the match's threat level, calling it a spectacular situation and entirely appropriate for Moxley and Omega, who'll attempt to blow each other up on Sunday.

This was short but sweet. Tony Schiavone and Jim Ross put it over as well, with clips from the past few weeks highlighting the events that brought us to this point. In a short closing promo, Moxley said that if this is the end of his career, he can't think of a better way to go out.

Bring on the barbed wire.
