8 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dynamite: The Crossroads (Mar 3)

5. A Hall Of Fame Worthy Surprise?

Tony Schiavone Paul Wight
AEW

Paul Wight's new "No More BS" t-shirt is suitably corny and in-line with the "BIG NASTY BASTARD" design he had in WWE. Oh, and the "BIG SHOW" deal with the arrow pointing to his penis. Lame is the game when it comes to Large Paul's merch. It's fine.

The 49-year-old's Dynamite debut was even more than it needed to be. Some simple dialogue on Dark: Evolution would have sufficed. We got that, but Wight also brought the "biggest scoop ever" to the table, claiming that a "hall of fame worthy" name will debut at Revolution this weekend. It'll be somebody who'll become a huge asset to AEW and we won't believe who it is, apparently.

This has to be something big. Last night's pre-Revolution media call saw Cody Rhodes speak on the importance of not bait-and-switching the audience, so the debutant not living up to Wight's billing would be unacceptable. Thus, AEW must deliver a big name, and it's nigh on impossible to figure out who it might be.

Let the speculation commence.

(Spoiler: it's Gangrel)
