8 Ups & 2 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Aug 4)

Ups...

8. Match Time

Wrestle House continued this week, again showing itself to be one of Impact's greatest investments, albeit not quite as entertaining as last week's installments were.

The first set of proceedings saw Taya Valkyrie and John E. Bravo attempting to persuade everyone else in the house to abide by strict personal hygiene rules, which is something you absolutely need in a house that has big beefy boys like The Deaners and XXXL roaming around. Perhaps a bigger talking point from here though was an apparent spark between Susie and Cousin Jake. Just when you think Rosemary and John E. Bravo is an odd pairing, the innocent Susie sets her sights on a Deaner.

A Handicap Match saw Susie and Alisha Edwards defeat Johnny Swinger, stemming from 'The Swing Man' doing his best to get close to both of them during Taya's hygiene lecture. These Wrestle House matches don't need to be anything too special obviously if they're only three or so minutes apiece, but something a bit more exciting than this would have been preferred. Susie's continued 'I don't know how to wrestle' schtick is becoming increasingly tedious.

Had this been all we saw from Wrestle House this week, then it more than likely would have been a Down, which isn't what should be happening from such a unique concept. Luckily, nothing here was too terrible to be criticised heavily, and the second half of skits later on in the show added more layers to Wrestle House and its tenants.
