8 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Dynamite (16 Oct)

1. Hangman Page Delivers

Adam Page just cut a career-best AEW promo.

It did loads to build his side of the story heading into Full Gear next month and that colossal clash with old mate Kenny Omega for the AEW World Title. Hangman's journey through supreme confidence (in ROH and New Japan) to self-doubt (in AEW) and finally regaining self-belief (thanks to the fans) was awesome.

He laid everything out so well here, and didn't fall into the trap of milking chants or trying to make everything epic. No, this was a babyface thanking fans for their support, promising more "Cowboy Sh*t" and trying to rally the troops behind him. Importantly, Page never vowed to take the belt from Omega or he'd quit.

That would've been silly, and an unnecessary add-on to an already-hot match.

Fans respectfully let Hangman go through the gears without shouting over him, and their patience was rewarded with a strong speech about the quest for self-belief. This was the kind of promo Page needed, and it got this fan more excited for the next pay-per-view.
