8 Ups & 3 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Dec 8)
Welcome to the team: Impact Wrestling is #AllElite.
Last night was the most anticipated edition of Impact Wrestling in quite some time. Maybe ever. The conclusion to last week's AEW Dynamite left its mark on the wrestling world, and instead of waiting until the following Wednesday to address their actions, Impact EVP Don Callis and the new AEW World Champion Kenny Omega chose to do so on Impact programming.
2020 has been intense for professional wrestling.
The appearance of 'The Cleaner' came on a night that also saw a paid advertisement from AEW's CEO and president Tony Khan, alongside commentator Tony Schiavone. Teases were made of Khan buying Impact Wrestling, as well as an interpromotional showdown between Kenny and Impact's champ Rich Swann. Together, Omega, Callis, Khan, and Schiavone made this week's Impact trend number three on Twitter, as well as be in the top five of all Twitch channels. Incredible.
Elsewhere on the show, Rosemary and Taya Valkyrie advanced to the semifinals of the Knockouts Tag Team Championships Tournament, more dissension was teased between The North following Josh Alexander's loss to Chris Sabin, 'The Draw' version of Sami Callihan was out in full colour, and Rich Swann, Willie Mack, Chris Bey, and Moose had a sensational main event together.
Let's get to it...
