8 Ups & 3 Downs From Impact Wrestling Rebellion 2019

3. New Side Of Swann

For as long as we can all remember, Rich Swann wasn't really anything more than a guy who loved to have fun in the ring, and do all manner of flips in the process. That was until this whole rivalry with Sami Callihan came around - as evidenced during Sunday's event, the current X Division Champion has a twisted side to him too.

Their match had been made an oVe Rules Match which is a bit of odd name considering other members of the group were barred from ringside for the bout. Despite that, the action was full of intensity from the moment the bell rang. You had the usual steel chairs and trash cans, but then Callihan started doing piledrivers on guard rails and Lego to turn it up a notch.

What no-one was expecting though was to see Swann go to the darkest part of his mind, and use Sami's own barbed wire bat to assist a crossface for the victory. It was difficult to just watch, but Callihan's suffered much worse in his career. It was a completely different side of Rich Swann that nobody was ready for. Thankfully he's not always like that - one less sadistic person won't harm the world.
