8 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE Raw (10 Mar - Results & Review)

7. Wacky Lucha Hijinks

WWE Raw Chad Gable
WWE

Chad Gable going on a quest to learn the secrets of Lucha Libre and coming back with a mask is just dumb on its face. At best, it’s a silly caper that could be played for laughs. Then WWE went and executed the angle Monday night, and it came off better than you could expect.

During the tornado tag between New Day and the LWO, a masked man dove off the barricade and attacked Rey Mysterio and Dragon Lee, helping the New Day secure the win. The man was dragged off by security.

Later, Cathy Kelley went full super-sleuth in trying to expose Gable as the masked man in question, pointing out that he was wearing the same clothes and had the same build, plus he was wearing an American Made mask. Gable denied it vehemently, and then he was seemingly validated when the masked man was led out of the building in the background by security.

Obviously, there’s more to this story, but for now, it was just enough dumb fun that it merits a faint Up here. However, there’s a fine line between “dumb fun” and “stupid,” and considering that American Made was supposedly trying to be a serious stable that wins championships, if this goes too far in the other direction, that will be it for this little venture.
