8 Ups & 6 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (Aug 27)
3. A Twist Too Far
Another week, another twist in the Roman Reigns whodunit saga - and last night's was a step too far.
This storyline is becoming a grind. It's now borderline Russo-esque, with WWE swerving for swerving's sake, as they undid last week's ill-received doppelganger angle by having 'The Big Dog' air footage of Rowan walking away from the original crime scene. This led to the former Wyatt Family man admitting his guilt. Daniel Bryan slapped the sh*t out of him, sent him off, marched out, and insisted his innocence, only to eat a Spear for his troubles.
Though it has had its intriguing moments, the storyline has twisted and turned out of control in recent weeks, to the point where we're now praying for a concrete resolution. Just cut to the chase already. It's no longer engaging, but tedious and eyeroll-worthy.
