8 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE Raw (4 Mar - Results & Review)

DOWNS…

6. A Noble Attempt, But…

Raw Tag Team
WWE

It’s a shame that WWE has tanked its women’s tag division so badly, because it seems like fans have been conditioned to just tune out whenever they see four women wrestling in pairs.

Monday’s match pitting former tag champs Kayden Carter and Katana Chance against Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark was energetic in bursts and had a couple of good spots among some hesitant and sloppy moments (including KC-Squared once again botching their finisher). For the most part, however, fans were not into it, save for the double Spanish fly the KCs hit on Stark. Even the finish, which simply saw Zoey roll up Chance after Shayna saved a pinfall attempt, fell flat.

Still, it was obvious WWE was trying something different, putting them in the first hour instead of late in the show when fans have died off, and they had Damage CTRL out there to challenge Zoey and Shayna to a tag title match next week.

One can only hope they figure it out, but the sounds of silence and lack of interesting developments aren’t going to be overcome by simple, logical booking. Sometimes, you need a little sizzle with your steak, and this division isn’t delivering.
