3. ‘My Water Just Broke!’

Distraction finishes are far too common in WWE these days, but no one could ever imagine “fake giving birth distraction” as a finish.

Mike and Maria Kanellis were at the OB-GYN’s office for an appointment, with Mike on the lookout for his pregnant 24/7 champ/wife. However, Mike had different ideas inside the doctor’s office, hugging Maria down to the table, only for the doctor to be revealed as Jessika Carr – an NXT referee – who counted the pinfall.

Mike celebrated, but in the waiting room, he ran into R-Truth and Carmella, in disguise. Truth claimed that his water broke, pulled a doll out of his dress, and tossed it. Kanellis instinctively turned to catch it, and Truth rolled him up for the title.

It sounds ridiculous, and looks even more so, but that’s the damn point. They’ve turned a one-note joke into a symphony during the past few months. This title would not work if the wrestlers (Truth and Drake Maverick in particular) didn’t throw themselves into the roles.
