8 Ups And 5 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Aug 5)

Downs...

5. Thoughts And Prayers

Fair notice, this “down” has nothing to do with WWE itself or the program, but as an American, this writer has to say something…

Raw opened with the entire roster on the stage for a 10-bell salute for the 30-plus people killed over the weekend in two separate mass shootings. This is something that has happened far, far too frequently, with WWE programming having to break the fourth wall to pay respects to dozens of people senselessly slaughtered.

Incidentally, Raw emanated from Pittsburgh, a city that suffered its own mass shooting not even 10 months ago, when 11 were killed at a synagogue. Since then, there have been hundreds of shootings in the US, including two where 12 people died in each tragedy.

It’s insanely frustrating to write this out, and even worse to realize it’s going to happen here again. And again. And again.
