8 Ups And 5 Downs From WWE Raw (20 March - Review)

1. Guess They Couldn’t Co-Exist

Who here is shocked that WrestleMania 39 opponents Asuka and Bianca Belair couldn’t co-exist as tag partners Monday night?

The two teamed up to defeat Chelsea Green and Piper Niven, a match brought on by Green and Carmella (who was unavailable to compete) attacking the Raw Women’s Champion last week with Asuka saving her. Naturally, the communication breakdown began almost immediately, with it clear that the Empress of Tomorrow wasn’t playing along too well with Bianca, nailing a blind tag and laughing about it.

The champ looked foolish trying to preserve normalcy with her Mania opponent, who has been drooling blue mist and laughing maniacally the past month. And then it was Belair who was attacked immediately after the match, making it the second time in three years that she was headed into Mania as the champ and got attacked by her tag partner/opponent.

Talk about booking that does no one any favors. This was an utter embarrassment and a continuation of horrific booking of a special talent in Belair, who manages to succeed in spite of terrible creative. (Imagine how great she’d be if the writing was as good as the Bloodline angles.)

Bianca’s match with Asuka should rule, but fans should not forget the utter dumpster fire that has been the build of their feud.
