8 Ups And 6 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Aug 8)
3. Crowd Loves Cesaro

Say what you will about the impromptu nature of the United States Championship match between Rusev and Cesaro, but the two managed to pull off a really entertaining bout that had fans buying into the idea of a new champ and cheering like crazy for the Swiss Superman.
Rusev kept after Cesaro, but the challenger was on fire throughout the match, drawing more and more cheers as the bout wore on. When Rusev went for the Accolade and Cesaro turned it into an Electric Chair, the crowd erupted, as they did for the corkscrew uppercut and the Cesaro Swing/Sharpshooter combo.
Sadly, we got an interference-laden ending that quickly gave way to Roman Reigns re-establishing himself as the true challenger for the U.S. title. But inside the ropes, Cesaro and Rusev did a nice job holding together the main event, which felt like it had been thrown together 10 minutes beforehand.
The thing to watch now is how Cesaro is treated going forward. It’ll be interesting to see if he fades or steps up for himself.
