8 Ups And 6 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Aug 8)

Ups...

8. A Jobber Entrance!

Quick, when was the last time a no-name jobber got an entrance and wasn’t “already in the ring?” It just doesn’t happen.

But Monday, Braun Strowman’s opponent, Jorel Nelson, got a backstage interview (during which he simply stared off into space) and then got intro music and came down the ramp. Sure, he was obliterated by a clothesline that turned him inside out and a reverse chokeslam, but come on, the jobber entrance almost never happens on Raw or SmackDown anymore.

Sorry about geeking out about this stuff, but it harkens back to the old WWF Challenge and WWF Superstars from the late 80s, and it’s been fun to watch. And it’s working too, as the crowd “ooohhed” to Strowman running over Nelson. If he continues to demolish enhancement talent with vigor, Strowman might actually make fans care about him.
