2. Matchmaker, Matchmaker

Almost everything about the buildup to the Chris Jericho/Sami Zayn match that will take place at Clash of Champions was perfectly executed, except for one vital step.

After a tremendous Highlight Reel segment between the two, Raw returned from commercial break later in the show to announce that Mick Foley apparently wanted to see Kevin Owens’ ex-best friend face his new best friend. So Foley made the call for the match.

Look, that’s what a GM is supposed to do. But at the same time, wouldn’t it have been infinitely better for Zayn to have demanded a match against Jericho after he attacked him? Wouldn’t that have made tons more sense and shown a competitive fire from Sami? It’s a small detail, but it’s an important one when you get down to it. The GM should make matches like this, but it would be a nice touch if a wrestler was shown (or implied) asking for the bout.
