8 Ups And 6 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Dec 17)
4. Get To The Point
Sunday night at TLC, Braun Strowman defeated Baron Corbin – with a little help from some friends – to end Corbin’s reign of terror at acting GM.
Twenty-four hours later, that stipulation was tossed aside so Corbin could once again fight for his job, this time against his predecessor, Kurt Angle… and Bobby Roode, Chad Gable, Apollo Crews and referee Heath Slater.
This no-DQ handicap match dragged on and on to its inevitable conclusion, sending Baron packing for good (or until next week when he begs for another chance). If we had to endure a retread of TLC, it really could have been shortened down to 1-2 minutes, with rapid-fire finishers and a pin.
This just needed to be a lot quicker if it was going to happen. One of the biggest negatives on Raw in recent years has been authority figure-heavy segments, and counting this match for a GM spot, it was about a half-hour of the program. That’s ridiculous.
