Not every match needs an elaborate setup, nor does every match need to be arranged by an authority figure.

Sasha Banks made that point abundantly clearly Monday when she walked out during Asuka’s promo to congratulate her and then challenge the Empress of Tomorrow. Banks noted that Asuka brags about being undefeated and how nobody is ready for her, but the Boss entered the women’s Royal Rumble at #1 and lasted almost to the end, so she’s ready to go the distance with the Rumble winner.

That short promo set up a big first-time match based simply on proving who’s better, which can be all that you need if done right.
