8 Ups And 6 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Nov 28)

1. Women Rule Raw… Again

When Sasha Banks and Charlotte main-evented Raw last month, it was the first time a women’s bout closed out the show in more than a decade, and it was treated like a big deal. Monday, we saw our second women’s main event in two months, and while it was just as big a deal, it was treated as such because it was a Women’s Championship match, not because it was women competing.

And that’s an important distinction. The fall count anywhere bout might have been taking place between two women, but it was a pretty damn good match, spilling out to the floor a lot and involving both women beating the hell out of each other. Sasha lashed Charlotte repeatedly with a kendo stick, while Charlotte battered Banks and crumpled her with a moonsault off the announce table.

Some are going to hate on this match because of the seemingly never-ending hot potato of the women’s title between Charlotte and Sasha (each have now held the title three times since April), but damned if these women haven’t put on good-to-great matches and made the title something to covet. And really, isn’t that the point of a title? To be something a wrestler (figuratively) busts his or her butt to win and defend in hard-fought matches?

That said, let’s hope Sasha can have a nice title reign instead of Vince McMahon changing his might suddenly again.
