8 Ups And 8 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Jan 11)
4. Showing Some Fire
Unless there was some weird echo, the crowd seemed to be chanting for Becky Lynch when she assaulted Charlotte before the Divas Champions match against Brie Bella. Becky kicked at Charlotte all over the ring, beating on her for a couple minutes before taking a powder. Since she first came up, Lynch has been portrayed as the wacky one, a sidekick at best and not the one who would get the ball. Consider that of the nine women leading the Divas Revolution, only Becky and Tamina have never held a title in WWE or its developmental territories. Shes also the only one of the Four Horsewomen who never won the NXT Womens Championship. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-DaFFiwj9I But Lynch is extremely talented and can more than hold her own in the ring, so after being portrayed as gullible for several weeks as Charlotte slowly turned heel, it was refreshing to see her outsmart the Divas Champion last week and win a friendly competition. And when she lashed out against Charlotte and ambushed her, fans related to her snapping like that and responded accordingly. Maybe theres hope for how the women are portrayed in WWE.
