8 Ways WWE's Booking For Survivor Series Has Made No Sense

2. Ryback Siding With Cena

Out of all the ridiculousness we've been asked to endure, the fact the "The Big Guy" has willingly sided with John Cena is probably the hardest to swallow. WWE deserves credit for their renewed push of Ryback, and the crowd seems to be responding well to him, After the way he was shunted down the card following his brief main event flirtation, languishing as 1/2 of Ryback, it's surprising that he's been able to regain any momentum at all. But they need to capitalize on it and that seems to be the plan. The entire reason that Ryback turned heel in the first place was because he thought John Cena was a d*ck. There were several times that Cena got jumped by The Shield when Ryback ran out to intervene on his behalf, yet rarely would John ever return the favor. So what do they do to try and turn Ryback back to Cena's side? Basically give us a couple of weeks of Team Cena members getting jumped and John Cena not helping them. Makes perfect sense, right? The funny thing is that WWE wanted us to boo Ryback even though his points were entirely valid, and now here we are again rehashing the same situation. And their exchanges have been super awkward, with Cena doing nothing to convince Ryback that he would support him, just basically saying "If you want to join up, cool". It doesn't seem like WWE has any idea how unlikable their hero is booked half the time. The problem wasn't that Ryback joined up with Cena. It's how they got there without changing the dynamic between them.
