8 Wrestlers Being Buried By WWE's Scripted Promos

Ricochet may be one of the most talented high flying wrestlers in the world today. But as mentioned before, these scripted promos are doing him no favors.

Committed to trying to make him a superhero now, we can only assume that WWE will only go further down the road of trying to force him to do what he doesn't do best: mic work.

Doing this odd "superheros are real" thing further sells how not believable he is at this stage with his promos. He FEELS like a character from a comic book. And maybe for the youth, that works in all the good ways. But for the rest of the audience, his robotic delivery means it works in all the bad ways.

Ricochet is talented enough that he doesn't need a forced connection with a microphone. He has a unique, acrobatic, fast paced style that when given the freedom is charismatic without needing a word. Choosing to ignore that and forcing Ricochet to try to use the awful ideas creative have for him will never turn him into a great promo cutter. It will just give him Rollins heat.

WWE is the home of sports entertainment, and they need to remember what that means. The best sports entertainers sold merchandise and tickets, absolutely. But they knew promos weren't merchandising opportunities, they were for entertaining. All the rest is just an afterthought.

And they need to remember that, then, now, forever. Before they bury the stars before they're made.
