8 Wrestlers That Lost Their Tempers With Reporters

3. David Schultz

The infamous 20/20 incident. 'Dr. D' David Schultz appeared on ABC's 20/20 show that was looking to expose the professional wrestling business. ABC's reporter John Stossel, interviewing Schultz at Madison Square Garden, made the massive mistake of telling Schultz that he thought wrestling was 'fake'. In the blink of an eye, Dr. D slapped Stossel, knocking him to the ground before delivering another vicious strike. Stossel claimed that he suffered from pain and buzzing in his ears eight weeks after the assault and filed a lawsuit against the World Wrestling Federation which was settled out of court for $425,000. It must be noted, this interview took place in 1984 when the inner workings of the professional wrestling business were still very much hidden. The heels travelled with the heels and the baby faces likewise. This secrecy led Schultz to claim that WWF told him to slap Stossel, something Vince McMahon denied. Schultz was fired soon after the incident. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tbl92RqHVmk
