8 Wrestlers Who Could Be Chris Jericho's Teased Secret Mystery Opponent
1. Homicide
Chris Hero isn't the only Cage of Death standout who could act as the mystery opponent.
Former ROH World and World Tag Team champion Homicide has already appeared on AEW programming, having helped out real-life close friend Eddie Kingston in a fun bit of regionalised fan service at Rampage Grand Slam last year - so he's known to Tony Khan, who of course was a massive ROH fan in its heyday.
Chris Jericho Vs. hard as nails folk hero always just works, too, in a weird way. His match with Nick Gage was shockingly, thrillingly undiluted, and it's even better when he plays heel. There's a certain "No f*cking way can you brawl toe-to-toe with him" quality to those matches, but he can. Jericho is great at it. When he fights an Eddie Kingston type, you can tell him to f*ck off and admire his work, all at the same time.
A Homicide match should work very well on that basis, and it might solve what is becoming the Eddie Kingston problem. Why isn't he doing anything? Why hasn't he felt the same since the Jericho feud?
Could that end - in a far better way this time - after saving his friend from a post-match beat-down, linking the rivals once more in storylines?
